CAMERON- April is Autism Acceptance & Awareness Month. Aptitude Cameron and Southern Pines Centers, both a division of BlueSprig, and local providers of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services for children with autism spectrum disorder, are partnering with a local theater for a movie night designed especially for children with sensory needs.
The sensory friendly movie night will be held on April 2 at 1 p.m. at the Sunrise Movie Theater located at 250 NW Broad St.
Lilo & Stitch will be playing with the lights on, sound low, and all guests are welcome to sing and dance along.
“I believe that it is so important for children with differing sensory needs to feel valued and seen by society,” said Savanna Phillips, Aptitude Cameron’s Operation Manager. “This event is one small step we can take in making an everyday activity accessible and comfortable for all!”
All families are welcome to attend. Tickets are available for $5 on the theater’s website or for purchase at the box office on the day of the event.
