The Benefits of ABA Therapy

The Benefits of ABA Therapy

What Is ABA Therapy?

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy is a scientific approach that is used to understand and implement social and environmental changes to produce meaningful improvements to various behaviors. In the past 50 years, ABA therapy has become the most effective treatment for individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities.

ABA has been shown to minimize the challenges associated with autism spectrum disorder and improve the quality of life for individuals with ASD as well as their families. With hundreds of peer-reviewed studies, ABA has become the standard of care for the treatment of ASD.

Our Approach to ABA Therapy

BlueSprig Pediatrics was founded in 2017 with a mission to change the world for children with autism through ABA therapy conducted by compassionate clinicians. Our highly trained Board-Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) work closely with our client’s families to create individualized programs to target specific areas of growth for every client. After a clinical assessment is conducted, individualized treatment plans are created to meet the specific needs of each child. There is not a “one size fits all” approach to ABA therapy. Each plan is developed with personalized goals for that child and their family. The passionate staff at our centers work to help our clients develop new skills to better prepare them for daily life, make new friends, and engage in memorable experiences with family and friends.  Our ultimate goal is for our clients and their families to gain the skills necessary to be able to enjoy full, meaningful lives independently.

The Benefits of ABA Therapy for Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder

BCBAs spend time assessing their clients’ behavior and environment to better understand what behavioral changes would benefit both the client and their families. After assessing the client’s behavior and skills, and reviewing the client’s medical history, a personalized treatment plan is created. These treatment plans are used to improve a variety of skills and gain the most effective results for the client. ABA therapy can benefit individuals with ASD in a variety of ways such as:

  • Proven outcomes for early learners in communication, social and safety skills, and day to day activities

  • Successful transition into school with school simulation learning

  • Foundational skills needed for continued learning in a natural environment

  • Necessary practices to sustain an independent life

  • Coping skills for individuals who struggle with self-regulation

Benefits of ABA for Caregivers

BlueSprig staff works closely with families to walk them through the entire process, from diagnosis to discharge. We can ensure that while your child is at BlueSprig they will be celebrated for their accomplishments and will participate in many fun activities such as arts and crafts, dance parties, and splash days. Our services and care don’t stop here: in addition to these, we also work to ensure that families are equipped with strategies that enable you to facilitate learning in the home and community setting outside of therapy hours. We will work alongside you to implement tools for successful play dates, pediatrician visits, and community outings with the goal of improving your family’s quality of life.
