Welcome to BlueSprig Cumming, where your child’s growth guides everything we do.

Our Forsyth County team includes Board-Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) who provide personalized, evidence-based ABA therapy for children with autism in Cumming and the surrounding area.

Many families come to us with questions before they have answers. If you’re wondering whether your child should have an autism screening, waiting on an evaluation, or holding a new diagnosis and unsure what comes next, our Care Coordinators can explain the path to ABA therapy.

We’ll help with insurance too. BlueSprig Cumming accepts most major plans, including TRICARE, Humana, Kaiser Permanente, Magellan, and United Behavioral Health, and our team will explain your benefits in plain terms.

Our ABA Programs: The BlueSprig Growth Pathway

Families begin ABA therapy in our Early Intervention programs – Sprouts (ages 0-4) and Sprigs (ages 4-6). As children grow, they may continue into our Branching Out programs – Explorers (ages 7-12) and Trailblazers (ages 13-18) – reserved for current clients.

Applied Behavior Analysis in Cumming and Forsyth County

BlueSprig Cumming is located on Market Place Boulevard, offering applied behavior analysis to families throughout Forsyth County and nearby Dawsonville. The center is open Monday through Friday, 8am to 6pm, and children receive one-on-one support in a structured, welcoming setting designed to make learning engaging.

Your child’s Cumming care team will:

  • Get to know your child’s interests and strengths
  • Design an individualized treatment plan
  • Focus on communication, social, and daily living skills
  • Partner with you to support progress at home

Goals, activities, and pacing are matched to how your child learns.

Early intervention is a core focus at BlueSprig Cumming. Through Sprouts (ages 0-4) and Sprigs (ages 4-6), young children can begin building essential skills while families gain the tools to support them. Starting early also gives parents more time to practice new skills with their child at home.

Areas of Growth Supported by ABA Therapy

At our Cumming ABA clinic, clinicians target skills that help children participate more fully at home, at school, and in the community.

  • Communication: Expanding how children share needs, ideas, and feelings, including speech, sign language, or picture-based systems.
  • Social Skills: Learning to engage with peers, respond to others, and enjoy shared play.
  • Everyday Independence: Working on routines like getting dressed, mealtimes, personal hygiene, and individualized toilet training.
  • Classroom Skills: Practicing attending, waiting, and following instructions to ease the move into preschool or kindergarten.
  • Managing Big Feelings: Teaching safe, effective ways to cope with change, disappointment, and frustration.

Evidence-Based Strategies at BlueSprig Cumming

Our Cumming clinicians use a combination of approaches tailored to each child:

  • Individualized Goals: Every treatment plan is written and supervised by a BCBA and updated as your child reaches new milestones.
  • Positive Reinforcement: Celebrating progress to motivate learning and gently reduce behaviors that may be harmful or disruptive.
  • Play-Based Learning: Turning favorite activities into teaching moments so skills feel natural and stick.
  • Parent Training: Hands-on guidance helps caregivers practice the same strategies at home and during family routines.
  • Flexible Settings: Care may be delivered at our Cumming center, at home, or in both settings, based on your child’s needs.

Regular progress reviews keep your family informed and make sure therapy continues to meet your child’s needs. Session summaries and progress data are also available through our parent portal.

From First Call to First Session

Here’s how families typically move from an initial conversation to ongoing ABA therapy.

Step 1: Comprehensive Assessment

A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) observes and evaluates your child’s skills to identify strengths and the areas where support will help most.

Step 2: Your Child’s Treatment Plan

The BCBA shares a customized treatment plan with clear, measurable goals and talks it through with your family.

Step 3: Therapy Begins

Your child works with RBTs, supervised by their BCBA, to build skills in communication and language, social engagement, self-help and daily routines, emotional and behavioral regulation.
