Trumpet Launches Comprehensive e-Learning Platform

March 22, 2016

RBT training and other resources now available through the new Trumpet e-Learning platform for ABA providers

Over the last ten years, the number of individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) has more than doubled. The number of professionals trained to support this population, while growing, lags the unprecedented need for educational and clinical services. Trumpet Learning Center, launched March 21st, is a comprehensive e-learning platform designed to deliver high-quality online training for those who work with or care for individuals with ASD.

Trumpet Learning Center’s training content is developed by a team of doctoral and masters-level Board Certified Behavior Analysts with over 55 years combined experience. The Learning Center offers content for clinical professionals and parents. It incorporates instructional design best practices for simplicity and information retention.

Dr. Linda LeBlanc, Trumpet’s Executive Director of Research and Clinical Services and Dr. Tina Goldsmith, Trumpet’s Director of Training lead the development of the content. Both are licensed clinical psychologists and doctoral level BCBAs with extensive experience in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).

ABA is an evidence-based approach to understanding and changing behavior. It is endorsed by the American Medical Association, American Academy of Pediatrics, and U.S. Surgeon General.

Words from The Trumpet Learning Center Team:

Says LeBlanc, “Each of the modules we’ve created is based on behavior analytic research, much of which is published in industry journals. Our use of video, along with instructional design, makes the Trumpet e-learning content engaging, dynamic, and easy to learn and retain.”

Goldsmith, the lead project manager for Trumpet Learning Center, echoes LeBlanc’s thoughts.

“At Trumpet Behavioral Health, we train hundreds of clinical service providers each year to implement evidence-based practices, and we’ve thoughtfully designed our training curriculum to ensure that our providers deliver exemplary assessment and treatment services. Our training curriculum has proven to be successful at TBH, and now we’re excited to share it with other ABA providers.”

e-Learning and RBT Certification

Trumpet Learning Center’s content includes a comprehensive curriculum designed to meet the training standards of the Behavior Analyst Certification Board’s newest credential, the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT).

The structure of the new Trumpet e-learning courses are ideal for those seeking the RBT certification. Each has a structure that encourages employees to progressively build the knowledge and competence needed to provide evidence-based services to individuals with autism and related developmental disabilities.

The RBT certification was launched in 2014. It is the most widely-recognized and rapidly-growing credential in ABA for direct service providers, with over 17,000 registered professionals at the start of 2016.

Lani Fritts, Chief Executive Officer of Trumpet Behavioral Health, describes the need for the new platform.

“Rising diagnostic rates and medical insurance coverage of Applied Behavior Analysis for the Autism population has dramatically increased the need for highly trained clinicians.  Trumpet’s professional development content is based on the latest research. Our e-learning platform efficiently provides a high quality learning experience with competency testing that enables our team members to achieve the best possible clinical outcomes.  We are very proud to offer this platform to the broader ABA provider community through the Trumpet Learning Center.”
