Supporting our Families with Accessing ABA Therapy Services

Amanda Brown May 15, 2022

Hi! I am Amanda, Trumpet Behavioral Scheduling Manager. I understand how challenging accessing ABA therapy can be. With that in mind, I wanted to share some information about how our scheduling team here at Trumpet helps with getting your loved one therapy services.

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy is highly effective in helping individuals with an autism diagnosis learn new developmental skills and decrease challenging behaviors. Accessing ABA therapy services early increases the acquisition of critical early developmental skills such as imitating, joint attention, and early language. These skills and more learned in ABA are foundational to learning more complex developmental skills.

Finding a service provider can be challenging. Sometimes, it’s hard to know where to begin, or what questions may be helpful when determining the right ABA provider for your family’s needs.

Asking some of the questions below can help you determine if an ABA provider is a good match for your loved one.

  1. How long will it take to start therapy?
  2. Who will be my point of contact?
  3. What does the first day of services look like?
  4. How are the services scheduled?

At Trumpet Behavioral Health, we are passionate about supporting the best possible outcome of therapy services for your loved one. One of the ways we support your family is with our scheduling process. Consistency and structure are critical to maximizing the benefit of autism therapy services. At Trumpet, we schedule therapy within our Early Learner and After School Programs. By doing this, we ensure your loved one can consistently access the appropriate services for their clinical needs. They will learn alongside their peers who are working on similar goals. This creates a natural learning environment that is progressive to match the changing needs of your loved one. Our programs are also scheduled at the same time every day. This creates a consistent routine, minimize team member cancellations, and make it easier to plan other activities.

Sometimes unexpected life changes happen like moving to a new home, changing a job, or splitting services between two households. In these circumstances, we work with you to update your child’s ABA therapy schedule with as little disruption as possible. We are here to help and want it to feel that way! At Trumpet, we take the messy, frustrating parts out of accessing ABA therapy services. We want you to have time and energy for more important things, like making memories with your child.

If you have any questions or are interested in services at Trumpet please give us a call or schedule an appointment today!
